

He was born February 27, 1935, a son of the late Emmett Victor Kerby, Sr. and Hazel Livick Kerby.
He was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and retired after 39 years of dedicated service with the Waynesboro Police Department with the rank of Captain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Wayne Kerby, Lemuel Kerby, Ann Craig, Inez Burns, Sue Wright and Libby Graves.
Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Meek Kerby; daughters, Becky Deaver (Robert), Tina Meadows; grandchildren, Stephanie Craun (James), Josh Deaver (Lindsay), Tim Meadows, Amanda Meadows and ten great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park with Chaplain Jim Blackwell officiating. Honors will be provided by the Waynesboro Police Department Honor Guard. Those friends wishing to attend the service may meet directly at the cemetery on the day of the service.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
