

He was born December 16, 1930 in Crimora, son of the late Owen and Minnie Parr Estes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ervin Owen “Dinky” Estes, Jr.; four brothers, George, Roy, Hoover and Roger Estes; one sister, Margaret Bruce.
Mr. Estes was a member of Clearview Church and had been an Elder and sang in the choir at Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and turkey hunting. He was a loving husband, father and loved his grandson Jeremy more than anything. He was retired from Virginia Metalcrafters and Con-Agra. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruby F. Estes; one daughter, Deborah Brown and husband David of Waynesboro; one grandson, Jeremy Brown and wife, Kacy of OK and one sister, Shirley Craig of Crimora.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro.
A service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 in the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor John Hamric officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Kenny Fisher, Charlie Wolfe, Scottie Via, Frankie Via, George Estes Jr., Ray Underwood, Ray Brown and Danny Fisher.
Honorary pallbearers will be nieces, nephews and church members attending the service.
