F. Gerald Bryan

Frederick G. Bryan, 79, of Shawnee Road, Waynesboro, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1932, in Maryland, a son of the late Johnathan Witter and Muriel Snelgrove Bryan. He was a retired kitchen designer, an avid golfer, a "fixer" of all things broken and would help anyone in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Trust Bryan. Survivors include a son, Geoffrey Trust Bryan of Waynesboro; two daughters, Donna Bryan Schmardel of Oxford, Connecticut, and Cynthia Lynn Bryan of Hebron, Connecticut; two brothers, James Bryan of California and Edwin Bryan of Florida; a sister, Virginia Smith of Madison, Connecticut; and three grandchildren. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by the Reverend Kim Webster. The family would like to give a special thank-you to Gerry's friends for their love and kindness over the years. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the residence of 882 Shawnee Road, Waynesboro.
