Obituary of Franklin "Buck" E.  Campbell
Franklin E. “Buck” Campbell, 57, of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. He was born in Staunton, VA on November 28, 1962, a son of the late Ray Jay Campbell and Sarah Lee (Benson) Dull. Buck had worked for Eastside Speedway for many years and the City of Waynesboro as part of the street crew. He attended Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren and was active with Relay for Life. He enjoyed family time, riding his motorcycle, racing, and being a handyman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Thomas Snead; his sister, Rebecca “Becky” Trimble; his father-in-law, Charles L. Groah. Survivors include his wife, Denise (Groah) Campbell of 38 years; his son, Timothy Campbell and wife, Carolyn; grandchildren, Kadynce Campbell and Cody Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Hudson Sullivan; brothers, Ray “Tinker” Campbell and wife, Paula, Roger Lee Dull and wife, Linda, and Frankie Eugene James; mother-in-law, Mary E. Groah; brothers-in-law, Chuck and Larry Groah; half-siblings, Leslie Welcher Raines and Kenneth Campbell numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend, who was more like a brother, Vern Yoder and Teresa Bulle; and his furry companions, Pepper and Smoke. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Mike Woods officiating and Pastor Brent Pirkey and Tonya Lucas providing music. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be, Chuck Groah, Eric Stewart, Scottie Keys, Charlie Campbell, Curtice Hinkle, Vern Yoder, and Marty Krupinski. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his Harley friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Buck could often be seen casually dressed wearing his Harley Davidson tee shirt, so the family would like for people to feel free to dress casual for his services.
