

She was born August 10, 1943 in Albemarle County, the daughter of the late Douglas Kirby and Norma Lamb Bragg.
In addition to her father who was killed during World War ll and her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Hanger in 1979.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth Hanger Turner and her husband JB, her step-father, Frank Bragg of Waynesboro, four grandchildren, Alexis Turner, Logan Turner, Bailey Turner, Addison Turner, cousins, Marsha Berg of Waynesboro, Dwayne Tooley of Waynesboro, Betsy Craig of Batesville, and one aunt, Clara Mundy and her husband Ray of Waynesboro.
She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and was an avid sports fan.
She was formerly employed by Kate Collins Junior High and Waynesboro High School as supervisor of the in school suspension program and retired in June of 2005 from the Henrico County School System as a teacher’s aide.
She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, her family and especially watching her grandchildren in playing sports, who were the apple of her eye and made sure they did not have to want for anything.
She also assisted Coach Dave Huffer with the Waynesboro High School Little Giants during the baseball season.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Augusta Memorial park with Pastor Dave Huffer officiating.
There will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home, as friends will be received at the residence of her daughter of 58 Featherstone Drive, Lyndhurst.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the educational fund for (her) the Turner grandchildren, in care of Wells Fargo bank, 216 S. Wayne Ave., Waynesboro, Virginia 22980.
