

Born December 5, 1940 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Owen Russell and Elizabeth Alma (Courtney) Louderback.
Prior to retirement, Gene was employed by DuPont. He was raised attending Second Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro. Gene was a faithful member of the Waynesboro Moose Lodge #1309 and never missed a game of BINGO. He greatly enjoyed cheering on the Washington Redskins on Sundays, watching his son-in-law and grandsons drag racing, going fishing and camping at Douthat State Park and traveling with his family. He will be remembered as a loving father, devoted grandfather, and proud great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann (Via) Louderback; sisters, Joan Lesick and Jane Glenn; and brother, Billy Louderback.
Survivors include his daughters, Stacey Keys and husband, Harley “H.D.” of Grottoes, Tonya Louderback of Harrisonburg, and Debbie Fultz and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Sarah Truslow and husband, Steve, Blaine Keys, Kalen Keys, and Brittney Coffey; great-grandchildren, Carson Truslow, Cade Truslow, Braxton Watkins, Bentley Watkins, Abriella Watkins, and Blayze Watkins; special friends, Dewayne, Ben, Oliver, and Matt; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers will be H.D. Keys, Blaine Keys, Kalen Keys, Steve Truslow, Scottie Keys, Brandon Keys, Charles Truslow, and Jason Truslow.
