

George Kennan Mynes, 71, of Back Creek Lane, Lyndhurst passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 24, 1944, a son of the late Richard Wilmer and Hallie Louise Humphries Mynes.
George was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked many years in textile at Crompton and later retired as a long haul driver. George was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Mynes and a sister, Edie Fisher.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; three daughters; Rhonda Delicath and husband, Mike of Illinois, Fonda Hamric and husband, John of Stuarts Draft, Tina Jones and husband, Ronnie of Chesapeake; sister, Shirley Fix of Stuarts Draft; five grandchildren, Crista Phillips, Michael Phillips, Austin Hamric, Nicole Jones, Caleb Jones; special great-grandchild, Serenity; as well as number of special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Crossroads Baptist Church, 31 Cross Road Ln, Fishersville, VA 22939 with Pastors Heath Spivey, John Hamric and Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Sherando United Methodist Church Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 340.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Phillips, Dale Phillips, Todd Phillips, Tommy Mynes, W. T. Fix and Mike Little.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Walker, George Winston, Eric Pendleton and Chris Guyer.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 23, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
