Gerald Martin Wheeler

Gerald Martin Wheeler, 61, of Mt. Torrey Road, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 14, 2103, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on May 3, 1952, a son of Louise Bewlay Wheeler and the late Otibine Martin "O M" Wheeler. He was a 1970 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 34 years, Joyce Blosser Wheeler; a son, Jason Wheeler and girlfriend, Crystal Brooks; two sisters, Anna Belle Estes and husband, Garland, of Lyndhurst, and Annette Jarrell and husband, Gary, of Richmond. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Charles C. Ramsey. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Gary Church, J. Kent Hite, Gary Demastus, John Rollins, Byron Lunsford, Scott Lowery, Kenny Sandridge, and Christopher Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Hestel Lowery, David Fuqua, Mark Weatherholtz, and Ed Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the funeral home.
