Betty was born in Woodlawn to Joseph and Gladys Jennings on May 23rd, 1937. She worked alongside her husband, Roy, running several service stations in Roanoke, VA and then riding with Roy as he worked as a truck driver. Betty was a dedicated wife and mother who loved her family and her pets. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching old Westerns on TV and listening to classic country music.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Holcomb; a son, Jerry Holcomb; sister, Mary Ann Lawson; and brothers Marvin Lee Jennings, and Tom Jennings.
Betty is survived by sons, Timothy Holcomb and wife Nancy of Stuarts Draft, Doug Holcomb and wife Lori of Roanoke, and Joseph Holcomb and wife Robin of Stuarts Draft. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Holcomb of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Kelli Holcomb, Ashley Short, Scott Holcomb and wife Anna Brooks, Amanda Holcomb, Whitney Barry and husband Ryan, Philip Holcomb and wife Katy, Jennifer Thompson, Carrie Montgomery and Michael Holcomb. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Avery, Carson, Grayson, Harper, Elle, Nora, Alli, Hannah, McKenna, Ryen-Laine, and Braxton; as well as a brother, Joe Paul Jennings; a sister, Geneva Linscott and husband Dale; as well as numerous extended family members.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Riverview Cemetery with Chaplain Larry Aikens officiating.
