

He was born December 5,1937 in Grenada, MS, a son of the late Harold and Minnie Rae Baldwin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death buy his wife, Caroline W. Baldwin and two brothers, Fred and David Baldwin.
Survivors include a son, James Baldwin and wife Terresa Baldwin of Palm City, FL; daughter, Debra Allen and husband Bruce of Waynesboro; three granddaughters, Taryn and Katie Fitzgerald, Brittany Kisamore and husband Derec; three great grandchildren, Lucas Acker, Kayliegh and Konnor Kisamore.
Harold received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University and retired as Engineering Manager from the former Waynesboro DuPont Company after 32 years of service.
He served as an Officer with the United States Army for a total of 13.5 years, one and a half of active duty and thirteen years in the Army Reserves.
He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church where he served as Lay Leader, Lay Missioner and finally as Certified Lay Minister appointed to Main Street by Virginia Annual Conference. He loved to sing where he sang in the Chancel Choir and served as a Stephen’s Minister.
As an Industrial and Commercial Minister (ICM), he served as Industrial Chaplain at Virginia Metal Crafters and McKee Bakery. He was a member of the National Board of Directors and Skyline Chapter Board, was a recipient of the L.J. McConnell Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer Chaplin.
He recruited and placed numerous Chaplains in Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro.
As a member of the Community Mediation Center, he specialized in family mediation, becoming a Senior Mediator with Community Mediation Center, being certified for the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. He helped train numerous new mediators as a Certified Mediation Mentor.
Harold’s hobbies included holding a private pilot’s license flying over the Shenandoah Valley, walking with his wife of which they walked equivalent to one time around the world. While walking, they picked up trash and were an Adapt-A-Highway family for 27 years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Morris Fleischer officiating.
There will be no public viewing or visitation.
