Thoughts and prayers to the Coyner family. We had many fun evenings with Hank and his family. He was a true gentleman with a quick wit. He will be greatly missed. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

Coach Coyner. Without a doubt one of the most important men in my life. Had it not been for him, I most likely would have quit high school. I ran track and he coached. Until my senior year we had never won a track meet. My senior year we ran indoor track, I ran the 1000 meter run. At each meet Coach would allow me to run just fast enough to break the district record, the next day he would announce it over the intercom at school, I became a celebrity. During his math class he would challenge students that they could not out run me. He would get them to race me, ensuring I let them beat me. Then he would encourage them to come out for track. My senior year, we had 50 plus out for track and won a number of track meets. Always a smile, a encouraging word, a never quit mentality. Something that I have carried with me always. Coach Coyner and family I still have the the autographed bread board. I am so sorry I did not keep in touch over the years, very much my loss. Stuart’s Draft High, Class of 1975!

I was a student at Stuarts Draft High School when Hank taught there. He was my favorite teacher of all time. He always had a great sense of humor, he listened to his students and he was an overall great man.
I was truly blessed to know him for a short time and his family was fortunate to call him family.

He leaves a great void in every life he touched.

Rest in peace you dear man!

Coach Coyner was at FMS my sophomore and junior year, He was head basketball and football coach and Headmaster. He valued effort and desire as much as skill and afforded me my first chance to play varsity. He was straightforward, always encouraging, and a mentor and steady hand to many. As current Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Fishburne, you have the entire school community's and my personal condolences.

Hank was a classmate of mine at Fishburne. Please accept the condolences of myself and his classmates of the class of 1961. Apparently he was a great help with both the football and basketball team as well as being a member of Band Company in the brass section. He will be remembered at the annual ceremony for the departed in April, 2020.
