
Harry Lee Harlow, age 85, of Waynesboro, VA passed away on February 21, 2025 in Waynesboro at his home.
Harry was born on February 21, 1940 in Waynesboro, VA to the late Joseph B. Harlow and Myrtle Humphreys Harlow. Harry attended Waynesboro City Schools. Harry worked for Powell & Co installing refrigeration units prior to his retirement.
Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served a tour in Germany and honorably discharged as Sp4.
Harry was a lifetime member of the Waynesboro Moose Lodge 1309 for 60 years. For many years Harry was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing golf, and baseball. Harry was scouted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and during years 1963-64 played baseball in the Carolina League, Class A Minor League in Rock Hill, S.C. From 1968-71 Harry played baseball in the Augusta County League for the Harrison Braves where he helped the team to seven straight pennants and the series titles in 1965, 1967, and 1970. In 2013, Harry was inducted into the Rockingham County Baseball League Hall of Fame.
Harry was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Harlow Critzer, brothers Joseph B Harlow Jr, Robert Harlow, James Harlow, and George Harlow.
Harry is survived by his sister Jean Harlow Richardson of Powhatan, brother Dennis (Sun) Harlow of Ft. Walton, Beach, FL, sister-in-law Hilda Harlow of Saarburg, Germany, as well as several nieces and nephews. Harry is also survived by numerous friends from the Waynesboro Moose Lodge that were like family to him.
In honoring Harry’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service.
