Born November 25, 1943 in Lewes, DE he was the son of the late William Joseph and Sarah Catherine (Tingle) Griffith.
Herb attended Westminster Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro. Prior to retirement, he was employed by DuPont in Seaford, DE, Columbia, SC, and Waynesboro. He held supervisory positions in both personnel relations and manufacturing before retiring after 39 years of service. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served his country honorably in the Army. As a volunteer, he enjoyed helping those in his community at Augusta Regional Clinic and Valley Hope Counseling Center. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family, golfing and playing poker with his close friends, reviewing movies, reading, and technology. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and friend to many.
Survivors include his two loving children, Ginny Harris and husband, Tom of Waynesboro and Scott Griffith and wife, Sarah of Juneau, AK; and four grandchildren, Ben Harris, Maddie Harris, William Griffith and Sophie Griffith.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1904 Mt. Vernon St., Waynesboro, with The Rev. April Cranford officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
