Jack was born November 23, 1923 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Earl R. and Muriel Smith Stroup.
He married Fianna R. Boltz in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Jack spent his career with United States Steel at Carrier Furnace in Braddock, Pennsylvania.
Survivors include his two children, six grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife of 49 years who died on June 12, 1993, he was also preceded in death by his son, Gary R. Stroup on October 4, 2002.
A service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Chapel, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA. (Pleasant Hills, PA).
