

Jack proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired as Virginia State Trooper, after 32 years of service. He greatly enjoyed wood working, fishing, and tinkering with computers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, C. Downing Tait, Jr. and James Spottiswood Tait. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary B. Tait; son, D. Douglas Tait and his wife, Susan; daughter, Sandra Tait Garst and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Carly and Nicholas Tait, Hannah, Adam, Kimberly, Samuel, and Benjamin Garst; step grandchildren, Steven and Jarrad Moore; two sisters, Martha Tait Terzian and Mary Tait Roberts; brother, Robert Andrew Tait; numerous other family members and friends.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Christopher Heck for his care of Jack.
Arrangements are being conducted by Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro.
There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro with Pastor William Parker officiating. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jack’s memory to Reign of Grace Ministers, 1102 Eager Dr., Albany, GA 31707.
