Jacob Thomas "Poppie" Mize

He was born December 17, 1930 in Montcalm, West Virginia.

He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia Groves Mize; the loving father of Dona Mize (Ken), brother of the late Dolly Zimmerman, Clyde Mize, Paul Mize, Joe Mize, Homer Mize, Howard Mize, Edgar Mize, and the cherished grandfather of Jonathan (Whitney) Culp.

Jacob was a member of Hopeman Parkway Church of God and Christ’s Church at Mason, Ohio. Jacob had a love for cars, and was very involved with his grandson Jonathan.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by the Rev. Larry Hudson and the Rev. Michael Shreve. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Ken Mason, Jonathan Culp, Mervin Shreve, Al May, Ron Kohorst and Michael Shreve.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Southwest Ohio Foundation or Hospice Organization of your choice.
