

Jacqueline Cherry-Monroe, 76, died on August 31, 2024. A member of the Waynesboro community for over 35 years, Jacqueline was born January 22, 1948, in Fresno, California, to Willie Pearl Cherry and MC Cherry.
After Jackie graduated from Foothill Community College, she went on to pursue her love of the arts. Jackie loved her family; forms of creativity; writing poetry - where she published two books, "Just a Black Rose" and "Music in a Box;” and most of all - God. She spent many years writing poetry. She enjoyed expressing her creativity through written word and sketches. At home, she could be heard on the piano singing her praises to the Lord. She served as a deaconess at Shiloh Baptist Church
Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Pearl Cherry; father, MC Cherry; husband, Howard “Bro YHWH” Monroe, Jr; son, Jesus Monroe; brothers, Frank, Chuck, and Dwight Cherry; and sister, Gail Cherry Hinton.
She is survived by her children, Mark Kennard, Ada Hoover, Narcissus Peebles, James Peebles, and Virginia Pearl Monroe and son-in-law, Atanel Beaubrun; sisters, Dewayne Cherry and Wendy Cherry Norman; and a host of grandchildren, whom she loved and adored.
A funeral service will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00AM.
