What a great loss! My wonderful memory is with JC and Patsy - JC sitting on the first pew in front of the piano and his number one fan sitting behind him. Patsy would name songs that JC would know. I would play and he would sing. I think we did this for about an hour. I found out he had a beautiful voice and begged him to sing. He finally consented and brought his talented daughter to sing and play for our church. He passed on that talent. How precious are memories. He will be missed. He’s singing with the saints around the throne of God.

Angie and family,

Our family is keeping you close in prayer as you navigate forward. When I think of your dad, his love for UVA immediately comes to mind. I loved that your dad and mom would come to Westwood to help get everything ready for your students. His love and admiration for you was always evident. Please reach out to those who love you for support as you move forward. We are here for you.

JC and I grew up in a close knit community. We attended school at Greenwood School beginning in the first grade and we were classmates until graduation from Albemarle High. During our youth and early formative and teenage years we played a lot of baseball, basketball and, yes, (no pads) tackle football. Growing up in the Greenwood, Crozet, Yancey's Mill neighborhood, we were always very competitive but were always friends

JC married my only sister Patty. Together they shared a long and loving marriage. JC was a truly dedicated and loving husband and father.

Sara and I will miss him very much.
