He was born May 24, 1927 in New York, a son of the late James Angelo, Sr., and Adeline Polcari DeCruze.
James faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corp, retired as an architect, was a member of Lee Lodge 209 A.F. & A.M. and ACCA Temple.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean (Cahill) DeCruze.
Survivors include a son, Thomas DeCruze and wife Kathleen; daughter, Linda Brickley; five grandchildren, Taylor Brickley and wife Tabby, Keith Brickley and wife Erin, Ryan Brickley, Christopher DeCruze and wife Emily, Michael DeCruze and wife Tiffany; three great grandchildren, Stephen Brickley, Charlotte DeCruze and Andrew DeCruze.
Masonic Rites will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 by Lee Lodge 209 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street.
The family will receive friends following the masonic rites until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a SPCA organization of choice.
