James M. Wisely

He was born in Elizabethtown, N.C., a son of the late Dr. Martin Robert and Molly (Medland) Wisely.

Following the death of his father, he returned to England along with his mother and brother. In later years he moved to Raleigh, N.C. where he was employed as an Environmental Engineer.

James was an avid skydiver with over 2,000 jumps. You could often find him visiting his “Jump Family” at Triangle Skydiving Center.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his cousins, Steve Wisely and Jean Ann Wisely Taylor.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Medland Wisely; cousins, Clay Wisely and family, Linda Wisely and family, Eldridge Wisely and Sarah Taylor. James also leaves a dear friend, Peyton Taylor.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Jock O’Connell officiating. Family members are asked to meet at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618.W. Main Street, Waynesboro at 1:30 p.m. to ride in procession to the cemetery.
