Jean Fitzgerald

Jean Beverly (Harman) Fitzgerald, 81, of Waynesboro passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Augusta Health. Born December 30, 1939 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Earl O. Harman and Lottie (Childress) Boward. Jean attended Glovier United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Genicom where she worked as relay adjuster for 23 years. She greatly loved going camping, reading, and crotchet stitching. Jean also enjoyed collecting creamers. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Fitzgerald in 2011. Survivors include her two loving daughters, Rhonda Hernandez of Waynesboro and Dee Abshire and husband, Fred of Lyndhurst; one sister, Roberta Goode of Shipman, VA; two grandchildren, Stacey Day and Travis Abshire; one great-granddaughter, Alicia Wade; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Riverview Cemetery, 420 Rosser Ave., Waynesboro with Pastor Janet Knott officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
