

Joel was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on December 15, 1989 to Anastatia McCauley and the late Joel Robinson.
Joel attended Waynesboro High School and was an integral part of the WHS Boys Varsity Basketball club.
Joel chose a different path in life. Rather than following a traditional career, he poured his heart into creating. He expressed himself through music, designed and made clothing, and handcrafted rugs that reflected his creativity and individuality. He had a unique way of seeing the world and his passion for making things by hand left behind pieces that will continue to remind us of his talent and spirit. He lived life on his own terms, and his creativity and artistry were just a few of the many things that made him who he was.
Joel is survived by his mother Anastatia (Anne) McCauley of Crimora, His son, Elias Robinson of North Carolina and Venture Robinson of Texas. His sister, Bridget McCauley of Stuart’s Draft, And his brother, Michael Otero (Shelley) of Grottoes. He also leaves behind his nephew and nieces, Ethyn Otero and Madolyn Otero, Quinn McCauley and Shea McCauley. His extended immediate Circle, as he lovingly referred to them; Nana, Titi Betsy, Titi Janny, Uncle Dukie (Kristen), Ricky, Tori, Livi, Philip, Peyton, Sid and Aidan. He also leaves his San Antonio family, Lindsey, Sandra, Michael and Haley along with his dog Kimber.
Additionally, a large amount of extended family, and a number of friends, too many to count.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 30 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, also at the Waynesboro chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home.
