
Joyce Harlow, 68, of Pelham Estates, went to her heavenly home on November 6, 2013, while on vacation at her favorite place, Nashville, Tennessee. Joyce was born December 23, 1944, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late Willie E. and Eugenia Phillips Johnson. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Pam McPhaul and son-in-law, Danny; two grandsons, Kade and Tanner McPhaul, all of Red Springs, North Carolina; a sister, Mary Lee McCauley of Monroe Township, New Jersey; a special niece, Kathie Smith and her husband, Eddie (Jr); two nephews, as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews, great-great- nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Joyce was a friend to many. She also leaves a special friend, Sandy Mayse and lifetime friend, Zelma Watson. Joyce's greatest love was her pet "Chloe" who will sadly miss her mommy. Joyce had a great love for country music, going to Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry and attending the Country Music Awards. Joyce loved to dance and was an avid NASCAR racing fan, of which her favorite driver was Dale Earnhart Sr. and the No. 3 car. After the fatal crash, she chose his son Dale, Jr. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by the Rev. Larry Jent. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mike Thompson, Aero Smith, Frankie Coyner, Harley Smith, Danny McPhaul, Kade McPhaul, Eric Brooks and Danny Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013, at the funeral home.
