Judy Meeks Brown

Judy was born on April 9th, 1947 in Nelson County. She was devoted to her family with generosity to all.

She was the daughter to the late Thomas Ray Meeks and Nellie Thompson Meeks Staton & step father Elmer G. Staton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Brown; half sister Sandra Meeks Madison; and friend, Mr. Bill Hipes.

She was retired from Corning World Kitchen and continued to work part time at Afton Post Office for 10 years. She was a longtime member of Rockfish Valley Baptist Church.

Judy is survived by her children, Dawn E. Newberry of Roanoke, VA, Melissa B. Aitcheson & husband Chris of Stuarts Draft, VA, Michael W.L. Brown of Afton, VA, and Rebecca Shanan R. Brown of Vacaville, CA. She is also survived by grandchildren, Morgan Brydge, Nathan Aitcheson and wife Megan, and Giovanni Grijalva. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Rebecca J. Meeks; brother, Lawrence H. Meeks and wife Melissa; nephew, Zac Meeks; niece Bailey Meeks and her children, Meliah Duncan and Mariah Meeks-Sims; and great grandchildren Brantley Brydge, and Kenla & Kylo Almeda. She also leaves behind very special friends and traveling partners, Grace Ann Groah and Barbara McGann. She adored her pets, Bruce and Sugar.

Judy enjoyed planting flowers and loved being outside.

Following cremation, the family will be holding a celebration of life service at a date to be determined.
