June Elaine Shirey

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of June Elaine Shirey, age 74.

June leaves behind her two sons, Travis and Jamie and his wife Michele, and her three beloved grandchildren, Caleb, Colin, and Emma. She is also survived by her siblings, Dawn, Yvette, and Sam, who will miss her dearly.

June was a woman who spoke her mind and wasn’t afraid to let you know when she was irritated—those who knew her best will probably smile at that because it was simply June being June. She loved having her family home for the holidays, doing word searches, eating watermelon, and spending time with her many bluegrass friends. Her Mountaintop get-togethers were especially meaningful to her.

Although we are heartbroken by her passing, we find comfort knowing that June has found peace and is now reunited with those who went before her—her husband, Steve, her sister Susan, her niece Jessica, and her mom and dad.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
