Kaarlo Victor Elonen

Kaarlo was born in Conneaut, OH to Einie Almi Rachel Elonen and Alexander I. Elonen on October 1st, 1953. Kaarlo spent 20 years in the military, starting in the Marine Corp before transferring to the Navy. After leaving the military, he continued to serve his country as a civilian contractor at Sugar Grove Naval Research Laboratory. In his spare time, Kaarlo loved to shoot, was an expert with both pistol and rifle, and competed in shooting matches with the U.S. Navy Marksmanship Team. He also enjoyed building guns for himself and other family members.

In addition to his parents, Kaarlo was preceded in death by a nephew, Alexander Elonen.

Kaarlo is survived by his siblings, Rachel Moritz (Harold) of Chambersburg, PA, David Elonen of Warren, OH, Linda Elonen Wright (Jim) of Cleveland Heights, OH, Susan Pataky (Rob) of Waynesboro, VA, and Becca Buckman (David) of Milan, IN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, the family will lay Kaarlo to rest at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville, OH at a later date.
