Karl Allen "K.J." Swanson Jr.

Karl Allen”K.J.” Swanson Jr., 3, of Staunton, became an angel and was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday August 24, 2013.

K.J. was born on February 20, 2010 in Staunton, and was a son of Karl Allen Swanson Sr. and Stephanie Dawn Dudley. He loved his sissy, going fishing and going to church. He was an avid fan of Ironman, the Avengers, and other Super Heroes. K.J. enjoyed playing with his Big Foot trucks and cars and getting in the dog pen with his cousin and playing with his playmates and going to the park. K.J. liked listening to music and dancing. He recently learned how to swim and had his own unique sense of humor.

In addition to his mother and father, K.J. is survived by two brothers, Darren Swanson, Jared Miller; a sister, MaKenna Swanson; maternal grandparents, Michael and Donna Dudley and Dawn Robertson; paternal grandparents William and Angela Engleman; maternal great-grandmother, Nancy Dudley; aunts and uncles, Tracie and Ronnie Bosserman, Brandon and English Dudley, Jimi and Emily Swanson; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 30, 2013 at 2 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Lieutenants J.B. Blevins and Jason Perdieu officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
