

Born on August 11, 1925 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Kelley Coffey, Sr., and Blanch Hyden Coffey.
Kelly graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1942. On November 29, 1948, in Sherando, VA, he married Glenna Marguerite Desper.
Kelly worked for the Union Apple Company, Gordon Padgett Construction, and was the Assistant Manager of the Waynesboro branch of the Farm Bureau Cooperative, retiring after 39 years of service.
He was a charter member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, where he served as Sunday school superintendent for many years.
He enjoyed woodworking, attending craft shows in the area, hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and meeting old and new friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Desper Coffey, of 69 years, on February 17, 2018.
Survivors include his children, Roy Dale Coffey and wife, Janice; Susan Coffey Newman and husband, Jon; two granddaughters, Renee Newman Krieg and husband, Aaron; and Sarah Coffey Pruett and husband, Scott; three great grandchildren, Lilly and Cody Krieg; and Caroline Sadie Pruett.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 1862 Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro, VA. There will be no family night or visitation. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
