

Lelia Alice (Hall) Dameron, 98, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Shenandoah Nursing Home. She was born in Albemarle County on April 19, 1918, a daughter of the late William and Margret Hall.
During WW II, Lelia supported her country by working as a welder at the Naval Base in Norfolk. She was the oldest member of Fishersville United Methodist Church and a member of their senior citizens group. Lelia greatly enjoyed quilting, knitting, and taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Dameron and her seven siblings. Lelia was the last surviving member of her two family’s generation. Survivors include her two sons, Ronald E. Dameron, Sr. and his wife, Sally of Waynesboro and Danny J. Dameron and his wife, Lisa of Swoope; four grandchildren, Wendy Kinley, R.J. Dameron, Stefanie Dedrick, and Jenna Dameron; six great grandchildren, Amaya and Mellyna Kinley, Olivia and Reagan Dameron, Kathryn and Kira Dedrick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2016 at Fishersville United Methodist Church, 1600 Jefferson Hwy, Fishersville, VA 22939 with Mr. Larry Nolff and Rev. Charles Bates officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Shenandoah Nursing Home for their loving care of Lelia.
