Lewis Carlton Roberts, 85, of Scottsville moved into his heavenly home on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
Born on October 14, 1933 in Nelson County, he was the son of the late George Allen and Maisie (Graves) Roberts.
Lewis was a Veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Virginia Dominion Power. He loved antique cars and to “cut a rug”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard A. Roberts, Ronald W. Roberts, Michael Dane Roberts, and an infant brother and sister.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia H. Roberts; daughter, Vicki L. Morris (Jim); step-daughter, Terry L. McGuire; very special granddaughter, Brandi Allen (Phillip); two additional granddaughters; grandson, Logan McGuire; one additional grandson; eight great grandsons; eight great granddaughters; sister-in-law, Doris Roberts; two nephews, Rick Roberts (Debbie) and Dane Roberts; niece, Natasha Hall (Rodney); as well as extended family and friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, 66 Tanbark Dr., Afton, with Rev. Dave Allison officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lewis’s memory to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box, 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101, or the charity of your choice.
