

Lina Vaiden Jackson Wakefield, 85 of Waynesboro passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Envoy of Staunton. Born in Burnsville, Virginia on November 5, 1929, a daughter of the late James A. Jackson and Lottie Eagle.
Lina was a member of the Burnsville United Methodist Church. She greatly enjoyed reading and cooking for her friends and family. Lina also loved working in her garden, growing all sorts of beautiful flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Wakefield; a son, James Michael Wakefield, daughter-in-law, Glenda Combs; three brothers, Murrel S. Jackson, Odell H. Jackson, and Otis Jackson; two sisters, Elsie Barnett and Clementine Andrews; sisters- in –law, Elizabeth Jackson, Margaret Jackson, and Sadie Jackson; brothers-in-law, Percy Barnett and Kenneth Andrews. Survivors include her son, Ronald Lee Combs of Stuarts Draft, three daughters, Patricia A. Combs of Waynesboro, Judy W. Gragg of San Marcos, California, and Donna M. Will of Herford, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Shannon L. Combs and his wife, Susan, Shayla Combs Branch and her husband, Keith, and Kristin Nicole Porter; two great grandchildren, Dakota and Kyle Branch; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Mejia of Fishersville; sister-in-law, Pete Lawson Jackson; a special niece, Frances Johnson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. , Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. Burial to follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Family will receive friends an hour prior to service.
Active pallbearers will be Ronald Lee Combs Shannon Combs, Keith Branch, Stephen Johnson, Jake Johnson, and Charles Gragg.
