Born August 7, 1967 in Franklin, VA, she was a daughter of Barbara (Thomas) Smith and the late Leonard Odell Smith.
Lisa was currently employed by Amazon where she worked as a RME Planner in their warehouse. Prior to her employment with Amazon, she was employed for 18 years with Target Distribution Center in Suffolk, VA. Her greatest joy in life was her children and spending time with them. She also enjoyed gardening, DYI projects, traveling to the beach and mountains, cooking and baking for family and friends. She was affectionately known as “Esh” by close family and friends who will miss her deeply. She will be remembered for her bold personality and as a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Kevin Lassiter.
Survivors include her two children, Brandon Lassiter of Virginia Beach, VA and Lauren Lassiter of Waynesboro; mother, Barbara (Thomas) Smith of Suffolk, VA; sister, Sharon Stevens and husband, Steve of McGaheysville, VA; two nephews, Nick Stevens and wife, Stephanie of Rockingham, VA and Tyler Stevens and wife, Allyson of Rockingham, VA; two great-nephews, Caleb Stevens and Charlie Stevens; and one great-niece, Paige Stevens. Lisa is also survived by several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her feline companion, Scout.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro. Following the visitation, there will be a funeral procession from the funeral home to Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Dave Kilgore, Jed Dennison, Doug Wagner, Ron Brockwell, Brandon Clements, and Rene Vargas, Jr.
