Loretta Frye Saben

Born June 21, 1937 in Bassett, VA, she was a daughter of the late Willie Richard Frye, Sr. and Hester Wilmoth (Draper) Frye.

Loretta was a longtime, faithful member of Waynesboro Free Methodist Church, where she shared her musical talents by playing the piano. Prior to her retirement, she devoted more than 30 years to Augusta County Schools as an elementary school teacher. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David George Saben; daughter, Rebecca Saben Francisco; brother, Willie Frye, Jr.; and sisters, Florence Frye, Doris Ferguson and Mollie Arrington.

Survivors include her sons, Timothy Saben (Sara) and Michael Saben (Megan); daughter, Marian Ulman (Robert); son-in-law, Eddie Francisco; four granddaughters, Marissa Ulman (Dr. Salil Desai), Leah U. Munster (Drayton), Michaela D. Ulman, and Paula E. Saben; five grandsons, Henry G. Saben, David R. Saben, John H. Saben, Philip M. Saben, and Edward B. Saben; three great-grandchildren, Vanessa Munster, Ivy Munster and Siena R. Desai; brother, Buford V. Frye; two sisters, Mary F. Ziglar (Fred) and Ruth F. McColley (Dean); and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Waynesboro Free Methodist Church, 600 Hopeman Parkway, Waynesboro.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026 at the church with Pastor Scott Brodd officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
