Lorraine was born on November 17, 1931 to Adolphus and Leona St. Louis in West Springfield, MA. At the age of 15, after the death of her mother, her father and 4 siblings relocated to New Jersey where she met her future husband, Arnold Apgar. They were married for 69 years before his passing in 2019.
Lorraine is survived by four children; daughter Deborah Willis and her husband Ed, son John Apgar and wife Dana, daughter Gloria McCaffrey and husband Frank, and son James Apgar and wife Lori. She had 9 grandchildren, 2 who predeceased her and 9 great grandchildren.
Lorraine always said that her greatest achievement in life was being a mother. Her children would agree that she was the best mom you could ask for. She was the kindest, sweetest, most caring and considerate person that always placed the needs of others before her own. She will be dearly missed by all.
She was an active member of the Long Valley First Aid Squad, and a member of the Long Valley Fire Department Auxiliary. She drove the school bus for the Long Valley Elementary School from September 1969 to December 1987.
A memorial service celebrating Lorraine's life will be held at a later date. Details to follow.
Arrangements entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
