Louis Charles Brown Jr.

He was born March 8, 1944 in Rockingham County, son of the late Louis Charles Brown, Sr. and Ollie Martz Brown.

Mr. Brown was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and was retired from Reynolds Metals in Grottoes. He never met a stranger and would give you the food off his plate.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Rodney Harner and a brother-in-law, Kevin Campbell.

Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca “Squirt” Proffitt of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Randy Allen Hanger, II and Ryan Adera Hanger; his former wife, Joyce Campbell of Waynesboro, who was his forever friend; one brother, Ray Brown and his wife, Louise of Waynesboro; one sister, Marie Harner of Waynesboro; brother-in-law, David Campbell of Stuarts Draft and mother-in-law, Geraldine Campbell of Staunton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street, Waynesboro, VA with Pastor Bill Johnson and Pastor Frank Hall officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
