Louise A. Ferguson

Born October 21, 1919 in Afton, she was the daughter of the late Lema R. and Maude E. Stelle (Fox) Cook.

Louise was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, Afton, prior to her marriage to the late, James Austin Ferguson on October 4, 1941.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Pilmore Cook; half-brother, Jerry Cook; four sisters, Noble Critzer, Alene Lunsford, Rushie Kennedy and Clara Sheffield.

She is survived by her three daughters, Jeannette Rittenhouse and husband, Hale, Judith Gumm and husband, Phillip and Elizabeth Carter and husband, Danny; three grandchildren, Jeff Gumm and wife, Merrilee, Daniel Gumm and wife, Carrie and Wendy Watts and husband, Howell; six great grandchildren, Rosie Gumm and Jordan Howell, Tyler and Madison Gumm and Ryker and Zane Watts; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many special friends at the Meadows in Crozet and John Hughes, Irene, Dale and Thelma Duncan.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, Afton, with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
