

Born March 27, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John Bailey and Sallie Mae (Rittenhouse) Phillips.
Louise was one of the founding members of Rockfish Valley Baptist Church. She was active as Vice Chairman of the Nelson County Democratic Party, a member of the Nelson Historical Society and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William Wade, Sr. of Afton, VA and her daughter, Calista Wade Duncan of Waynesboro, VA.
Survivors include her two children, John William Wade, Jr. and wife, Joan of Chester, VA, and Linda Wade D’Ambola and husband, Philip of Afton, VA; four grandchildren, Cheryl Wade Brummell (David) of Springfield, VA, CWO5 (USMC retired) Carroll Dean Duncan (Nina) of Rutledge, AL, 1st SGT (USMC retired) William Virgil Duncan (Sandra) of Waynesboro, VA and Justin Wade D’Ambola of Richmond, VA; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin Brummell, Sarah Brummell Cole (Kevin), Chad Duncan, Rhiannon Duncan Monday (Michael), Majesta Duncan Buckmaster (Todd) and Nick Duncan; three great-great-grandchildren, Eli and Ava Buckmaster and Elliott Dean Monday. She is also survived by two sisters, Patsy P. Higginbotham of Afton, VA and Dorothy P. Revercomb of Deerfield, VA; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on March 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Rockfish Valley Baptist Church, Nellysford, VA.
