

Born December 26, 1934 in Brooks, WV, she was a daughter of the late David Clay and Willie Bee (Cooper) Marion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 57 years, Leonard “Bud” Meadows, Jr.; and a sister, Patricia Boush.
Lu was a woman of deep faith and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Fishersville. As a church member, she faithfully served in many roles but she enjoyed volunteering at the Augusta Christian Academy the most. Her family was of the utmost importance in her life and she adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
Survivors include her two children, Greg Meadows and wife, Kim, of Fort Defiance and Tammi Early and husband, Todd, of Madison, NC and; six grandchildren, Tyler Meadows (Jessica), Zach Meadows (Jordan), Chase Meadows (Sara), Meagan (Early) Cockfield (Walt), Hunter Early (Jessica), and Caroline Early (Mike); eight great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Noah Meadows, Shaw and Wren Meadows, Augustus Meadows, and Tripp, Clay and Allie Cockfield; and one sister, Dena Gay Connard and husband, David.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 31 Crossroads Lane, Fishersville with Pastor Heath Spivey officiating. Burial will be private.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation.
Active pallbearers will be Tyler, Zach, and Chase Meadows, Hunter Early, Walt Cockfield, and Mike Vaughn.
