He was born February 23, 1940, a son of the late Henry “Luke” Luther and Ada (Duncan) Rittenhouse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Alene (Ferguson) Rittenhouse; two sisters, Judy Quick and Faye Rigby.
Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Watts (Howell); grandsons, Ryker Watts (Lindsey) and Zane Watts.
He also leaves a sister, Carole Craig (Sidney) as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Luther was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and retired from McClung Printing. He enjoyed carving purses and belts from leather as well as hiking, hunting, fishing and raising vegetables from his garden. Every year he and his wife would travel to Pigeon Forge, TN.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
