His mortal being was doted upon by his three greatest loves, his “girls”; wife, Gigi and daughters, Holly and Wendy. And they will continue to dote on his immortal soul far beyond his passing.
He lived his “no regrets” attitude towards life to the fullest, to the extent most others would only imagine. His rollicking adventures spanned the globe over seven decades, including but by no means limited to: horse racing in England, raising show dogs in Australia, waiting tables on the old Cunard ocean liners, square dance calling on a Chinese Yangtze River boat, and jockeying ostriches in Egypt.
Always a true English gentleman (unless you got on his wrong side) until the end, Joe had an unrivaled sense of humor and a passionate soul full of spark and tenacity. The likes of this man will not be seen again, he was a unique character, a billion to one, and we were lucky enough to share his life and call him our patriarch. Incomparable, unrivaled and forever unmatched in our hearts, he will always be the trunk of our family tree, the reason our branches flourish and our leaves grow.
As per Joe’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service; instead friends are advised to go make a proper English cup of tea and reflect on this extraordinary man.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Almost Home Pet Adoption Center, 29 Stagebridge Rd, Lovingston, Virginia 22949.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
