Marie Brown Harner

Marie B. Harner of Waynesboro passed away peacefully on Sunday December 2, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Martz Brown and Louis C. Brown; her husband, William B. Harner; one son, Rodney W. Harner, and a brother, Louis C. Brown, Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, June H. Baum and her husband Harry of Afton, VA; one son, W. Berkeley Harner, Jr. and wife Vanessa of Staunton, VA; two granddaughters, Kimberly M. Baum of Washington, DC and Kristen A. Baum of Stillwater, OK; a grandson, Berk Harner and his wife Lillian of Stuarts Draft, VA; one great-granddaughter, Blannie E. Baum of Stillwater, OK; and one brother, Ray Brown and his wife Louise of Waynesboro, VA and three nephews.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a Christian above all else in her life. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In the past 15 or more years she attended Wayside Baptist Church and Edward Avenue Baptist Church.

A private family graveside service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Harner’s name to Wayside Baptist Church, 45 Turk Mountain Lane, Waynesboro, VA 22980; Edward Avenue Baptist Church, 222 Edward Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980; or to the American Cancer Society, 420 Neff Ave, #210, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
