Mary Ann Buel, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful member of Fishersville United Methodist Church, passed away peacefully on 07/08/2025 in Waynesboro, Virginia, surrounded by the love of her husband and daughter.
Born on July 21, 1938, in Washington, DC, to the late James Carter Ball and Grace Woodrow Ball, Ann lived a life marked by grace, quiet strength, and deep compassion. She spent part of her professional life working for the FBI in Washington, D.C., a role that reflected her sharp mind and commitment to service.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mark Douglas Buel.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rex L Buel, and their daughters, Deborah Abed (husband Jim Abed) and Brenda Buel Richardson.
She was a proud grandmother to Jason Abed (wife Victoria English), Monica Abed of Fairfax, Devin Richardson, and Miranda Gall (husband Clayton Gall), and a delighted great-grandmother to Finley Gall of Kansas City.
Ann found joy in the simple pleasures of life: cross-stitching, bird watching, reading, bowling, and watching the sunset-moments of stillness that reflected the peace she carried in her spirit. She loved her family dearly and embraced her church community with warmth and humility.
A celebration of Ann's life will be held at Fishersville United Methodist Church, 1600 Jefferson HWY Fishersville, Virginia 22939 on Saturday, July 12th, 2025 with Bud Davis and Jim Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, immediately prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fishersville United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
Ann will be remembered for her gentle presence, steadfast faith, and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will live on in every sunset, every stitched design, and every page turned by those who knew and loved her.
