Michael Wayne Harrison

Born August 30, 1960 in Wilmington, NC, he was the son of the late Lawrence Edward Harrison, Sr. and Addie Virginia (Powell) Harrison.

He was employed by the Virginia Industries for the Blind and had previously worked as a self-employed carpenter. Michael was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish.

Survivors include his loving children, Michael Wayne Harrison, Jr. and girlfriend, Alonda Civatte of Burgaw, NC, Jonathan Harrison, Jeanette Harrison, Danielle Tucker and Michelle Whitmore all of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Hannah Harrison, Immage Kemp, Zymir Flowers, Akira Napier and Christopher Mason Byndum; brothers, Mark Harrison and wife, Susie and Warner Montgomery; sister, Patsy Waldroup; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., with Rev. Clayton Payne officiating.

The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to the employees of the Virginia Industries for the Blind for their support of Michael during his illness.
