Born February 12, 1950 in Portsmouth, VA he was a son of the late John and Irene (Gray) Moxie.
Michael was a U.S. veteran having served his country honorably rising to the rank of Specialist 4. Prior to retirement, he was employed by DuPont. As an avid outdoorsman, he greatly enjoyed boating and fishing. Having a love for music, Mike played as the drummer in the local band Rising Sons. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his love of baseball, fishing and eating ice cream. He will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, L. Frank Moxie and John “Chuck” Moxie; and sister, Catherine Hall.
Survivors include his two sisters-in-law, Karen Moxie of Front Royal, Va and Darlene “Vicky” Moxie of Waynesboro; nephews, Steven Hall, John Moxie and Jeff Moxie; niece, Robin Christman; and special friends, Karla and Lanny Campbell, Judy and Dave Tharp, Josie Maynard, and Pattie and Stan Quillen.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Mike’s favorite charity St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
