

Millie was born in Batesville, VA on March 28th, 1935 to the late Charles Arthur Kent and Ruth Ellen (Bennington) Kent. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Jean Bennington and husband, Kent Bennington, and a brother-in-law Harvey Kelley.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Charlene Kent Kelley, daughters, Debbie Clark, Diane Goodson, Donna Rowzie and husband, Guy Jr. Grandchildren, Michael (Mary) Clark, Cory (Amy) Clark, Hunter (Morgan) Rowzie, Allison (Wesley) Henderson, Sam Goodson, Lilli Shelton and Draedon Shelton as well as many nieces and nephews. Great grandchildren, Jane and Myla Clark, Emily Rowzie and the soon to be Addison Rowzie. She also leaves behind a very special longtime friend, Sandee Dixon who made sure her Friday nights were filled with fun.
Millie was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and in her earlier years, enjoyed assisting in the kitchen for weekly meals and teaching Sunday school. In the last few years, she attended Bridge Christian Church with her family. Millie graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1952, and retired from The News Virginian after 44 years of service. After retirement, Millie enjoyed camping, attending outdoor concerts and baseball games. Millie also loved to attend sporting events for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was rare that any condition kept her from being in the stands. She also loved spending time at the senior center, News Virginian reunion luncheons, helping deliver meals on wheels, volunteering with Hospice of the Shenandoah by delivering her home made sandwiches, and working endlessly on word search books.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Augusta Health Emergency Department, UVA Neuro ICU, and Hospice of the Piedmont for their hard work and endless caring to the end.
The Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21st from 5 until 7 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd, at 1:00 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Todd Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Clark, Cory Clark, Hunter Rowzie, Wesley Henderson, Sam Goodson and Wayne Clark.
