

Ottie (Grant) Myrtle, 93, of Waynesboro passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab. She was born on June 16, 1923, a daughter of the late Everett and Mittie Grant.
Ottie was a faithful member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church up until her health declined permitting her from attending. She retired from DuPont after working for 35 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands and son Robert Clinton Painter. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Spradlin and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Tina Jones and husband, Ronnie. Travis Spradlin and wife, Christy, and Steven Spradlin and wife, Laurie; great grandchildren, Lucas Cole, Nicole Jones, Caleb Jones, Madison and J.T. Spradlin; step daughters, Rita Henley and Kay Laurence. as well as a dear friend Betty Brown.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Paul LaPrevotte officiating.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at Carolyn’s residence.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the nurses of three East at Augusta Health for their wonderful care of Ottie and her family.
