Phyllis Virginia Kite

She was born January 16, 1926, in Shenandoah VA, the fifth of ten children of the late George Francis Beaghan and Mura Miller Beaghan.

Gigi, as she was lovingly called by her great-grandchildren, was a devoted friend to everyone who was blessed to know her. Phyllis’s beauty on the outside was only surpassed by her beauty on the inside. Her greatest source of pride was her beloved family, and in most life decisions, we all asked, “What would Gigi do?”

Phyllis was a former employee of Hollister and was one of the first employees hired when the company opened its facility in Stuarts Draft VA. She was a devoted, long-time member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro, VA.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Lloyd Page Kite; her son Kenneth Page Kite; five sisters, Eloise Carter, Juanita Whitmer, Bernice Claytor, Janet Dofflemyer, and Amelia (Millie) Beaghan; and her three brothers, Kyle Beaghan, George (Bucky) Beaghan, and Charles Beaghan.

Phyllis is survived by her loving and grateful daughter, Dolores Kite Johnson of Raleigh NC; her sister, Margie Davis of Luray, VA; her granddaughter, Teresa Brenan (Paul); and three great-grandchildren, Maddison Page, Declan Peter, and Langley Sterling Brenan of Newnan, GA. She is also survived by numerous much-loved nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life and graveside service will be conducted later. Per her wishes, there will be no family night prior to services, The family would like to thank the caregivers, staff, and residents for the love and support given to our beloved Mom during her five years at Summit Square. She was so proud to call Summit Square her home.

Special heartfelt love is given to mom’s dear friends Richard and Evon Carr, and Pam Freed for their unwavering love and support throughout the years.
