Ramona J. Chapman

Ramona J. Chapman, 78, of Charlottesville passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at her home. Born July 30, 1936 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Roy Thomas Fitzgerald, Sr. and Margaret Preissler. Mrs. Chapman worked as an LPN at the University of Virginia Medical Center until she retired in 1998. After she retired, she enjoyed going to the movies, taking cruises, working in her flower garden, antiquing and most importantly visiting with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin Crawford, Sr. and her second husband, Dr. William Chapman. Survivors include her two loving sons, Curtis Crawford and Sharon Johnson of Crozet and Paul Crawford and wife, Janet of Lake Monticello; brother, Roy Thomas Fitzgerald, Jr. of Crozet; grandchildren, Sarah Lamb and husband, Jared and their two sons, Conan and Adam Lamb and Casey Crawford and fiancé, Ryan Sorensen. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Monticello Memory Gardens with Rev. Clayton Payne officiating.
