Thoughts and prayers to the family.. Goodloe was a most patient and kind man. May your memories of his great laugh comfort you.

As a fellow Band member with me at Augusta Military Academy and later with the AMA Museum, Goodloe was a wonderful and kind mentor to me. I will surely miss him. And love to his family.

I was so very sad to hear about Goodloe passing. In many ways, he was like family to me, as the Saunders family has been in my life since I was in elementary school. I did family vacations with them, Christmas celebrations with them, I worked in their flower shop in Charlottesville, rode their tractor, fell off their horse, drove their golf cart around Fox Horn Farm, and joked about nearly everything.

Goodloe was a warm, caring, and kind-hearted man who would do anything for anyone with a smile on his face. We have lost a truly precious man, father, and friend.

All my love to you, Brenda, Jamie, Christie, Robert, and Bailey. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Praying for you all in this impossible time.

Brenda, I am the wife of an Augusta graduate, and I write "Spot Light" stories for the Bayonet magazine.  Goodloe was the first person I interviewed and wrote about.  I was a bit nervous, as I love to write, but had no interviewing experience.  However, Goodloe was incredibly easy to talk to by phone (and very humble!), and before long I had all the information I needed to write up my story.  When I finally met him in person, he already knew who I was, and after that he never failed to say hello when he saw me. I'm so, so sorry he is gone - and I know that many, many Augusta alumni miss him terribly. -Ruth & Howard Rosenthal

I met Mr. Goodloe, I referred to him as, in the Crozet Lions Club, he swore me in. I truly and deeply will miss him. He had a sharp and witty sense of humor and tried to live his life to the fullest. He was a true patriot  and I am honored to have known him.

Goodie was a perfect example of a "Virginia Gentleman". He will be
missed by all members of the Goodloe
Hunt Club.

All that knew Goodie, knew him as a gentle and kind person with a wonderful disposition and calming presence. He was always positive and often smiling. I cannot recall a single time when I didn't walk away uplifted after seeing him. Giving and receiving love is the only guarantee of having a truly happy life and by all measures Goodie lived happily.
