Robert Alexander "Bobby" Sprouse

Robert Alexander “Bobby” Sprouse, 82 of Crimora, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Augusta Health. He was born in Greenwood on September 23, 1933, a son of the late William Henry Sprouse and Mae McDaniel.

Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army. As a lifelong truck driver, he was employed by Associated Transport and then Consolidate Freightways up until retirement. Bobby was a member of Harriston United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 340, and Teamsters Local 29. He greatly enjoyed making apple cider in his younger years with his father, restoring his antique Model A car and farm equipment, and traveling. Bobby had a kind and giving heart, and was always there to help anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Warney Etta Sprouse; two sisters, Irene Shifflett and Agnes Bowman; a brother, Billy Sprouse. Survivors include his daughters, Robin S. Robinson and husband, Thomas, and Tammy M. Sprouse; a son, Rudy A. Sprouse and wife, Marsha; two brothers, Warren and Wayne Sprouse; sister, Connie Pleasants; step granddaughter, Ashley Robinson; two granddaughters by love, Whitney Lauterback and Jennifer Adkins; his two precious little rugrats, Bryanna and Tilena Rankin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastors Cam Carte & William “Gus” Wright, Jr. officiating. Burial to follow at Augusta Memorial Park with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 340. The family will receive friends Monday, November 30, 2015 from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
